There is always a reason, even though you may not see it at first. I am going through this situation, and it is a living hell...BUT, I do know why God had me fall for this guy. If I hadn't talked to this guy and let him get to know me, the guy wouldn't have seen my need for the Lord, and he wouldn't have invited me to church. Now I have accepted Christ as my savior and am repenting of my past life. I am still feeling immense heartache over not being able to have this guy, but if I didn't have Jesus in my life I'd probably have killed myself long ago. For real...this guy hurt me that bad.

the answers here make me laugh, some said falling in love is a decision. When has anyone decided to fall in love with someone?
falling in love just happens you do not control your heart, it is not a mind thing where you can decide or not , I am amazed at the stupidity of some people.
In response to your question, a straight answer to your question does not exist. Some might say that maybe that experience to fall in love with someone that does not feel in the same way you do will be teaching you a life lesson. Noone really can give you a straight answer, only God knows right?

Falling in love is a decision of the will that takes place once we've spent enough time getting to know someone over a reasonable period of time. If you have allowed yourself to date someone who is not a Christian, for example, and found yourself in love with them after a year or so of dating, you can't blame that on the Lord...that was your choice to date someone outside His will. I speak as a Christian married to an unbeliever, (I was saved after we got married), so I know of what I speak. God bless.

Because pain can teach us. I know that if I'd never got a broken heart (though it was awful, and I'm still not totally over the guy now, yrs later) I would not be as strong as I am now, or as appreciative of the people who do love me and can be with me.
Good luck :)
