If neither of you are married or involved with someone, and if your dentist feels the same way about you, then go for it! Love doesn't come around often enough to pass it by just because you met someone in a professional capacity. If it is one-sided, or either of you are in an existing relationship, then yes, find another dentist and figure out what is missing in your life. If someone's professional care and kindness triggers such a strong response, perhaps you need some tlc. I recommend caring for yourself enough that crumbs of kindness don't appear to be a feast. Good luck, and good love!

Besides the obvious barriers (are either of you married), once your treatment is done, it's ok to ask them out for a cup of coffee (or whatever) to let them know you appreciate them. It is common for patients who have their personal space invaded by another person to either feel intimidated or a special connection with that person. If the dentist likes you, they'll get the message via your request and you'll find out soon whether it's worth pursuing. Unless you spill your guts and tell them you have been having a one-sided love relationship with them, they would probably simply feel flattered and politely let you know their status and interest. You could also invite them to a group activity which they might enjoy, so it's not a one-on-one meet-my-parents first invite type of event. (ie. you happen to have an extra ticket to a concert they might enjoy, etc.) A dentist or other professional needs to be careful about pushing the relationship on patients (or staff) otherwise THEY might develop a reputation.
