The Bible and other holy texts deal with how everything got started. Evolution says that a very long time ago, things started changing. Evolution isn't supposed to give you a moral compass or explain how it all came to be; it explains how it got there.
Creationism is theology and evolution is biology; they're like steak and raincoats. You can feed yourself with a raincoat and you can't stay dry in the rain with a steak, but that doesn't invalidate either of the two.

Aha, I meant can't feed yourself with a raincoat.
I have nothing at all against religion, religious people, et cetera. Just to put that out there.

You're right, it Shouldn't invalidate either... However, if the raincoat starts to claim that it CAn feed you, then that's where we have a problem...
The tested and reliable theories of biology state what the physical world presents. When theology tries to invade the realm of science and misconstrues the facts and twists words and attempts to replace fundamental biological principles with absurd notions, none of which have any supporting evidence, is when the raincoat literally has started eating itself.

Agree. The problems stems from the belief of fundamentalist Christians (that does not include the Catholic Church) from their belief that the bible is inerrant not only salvific truths but in all aspects of life as well (including science and history). Such belief fails to see the human aspect of the inspired writers. However, both belief can be assimilated together so that in the end, its still the beauty of God's power than can been understood.

I agree. We look to science to help us understand how things work and how they developed. This requires objectivity, without emotion and feeling.
We look to God with Faith which does not require proof or even objectivity, only an open heart willing to grow spiritually.
I don’t feel that I have to understand how God fits into the picture of our evolution/development. I suspect it is beyond human comprehension anyway.
Why does it bother some of you atheists so much when we do not conform to your stereotypes? So sorry, but some of us Christians have great respect for science and we understand why faith and science should never be confused.

Dead on, but I'd like to add a note. Evolution is biology. Creationism is theology. "Scientific" Creationism is politics.

That's because you are supposed to wear the rain coat so you don't get wet while eating the steak
