First, are you AWOL or are you a deserter? If I remember right, AWOL is for 30 days or less and desertion is for more than 30 days. There is a huge difference. You need to contact your unit and turn yourself in. Not to scare you or anything, desertion can carry a UCMJ penalty up to life in prison and death. With AWOL you can get some time, and Article 15 and a dishonorable discharge from the military.

its AWOL by the way, don't they make you guys take some kind of test before they give you guns? Anyway, it's in your best interest to turn yourself in. I don't have any idea what the legal repurcussions are but they're not nice to the ones who don't obey. I have a friend who decided to leave for a while without telling anyone, but he had bipolar disorder, so they just kicked him out when he came back. You could always move to Canada. Why'd you sign up if you didn't want to serve?
Good luck. If you get into a lot of trouble just remember, the government is there to serve YOU, not the other way around. If you look for help, you'll probably find it.

I would call your Captin or even a trusted friend in your unit. I was in the Army during peace time, but I understand your fear and guilt. I don't know about the penalties, but I would think if you turn yourself in it would look a lot better for you. If all else fails try to contact a recruiter or even an attorney, also talk to the local police. I hope you do the right thing and I will pray for you. I know you are scared, but remember we are never alone. God is always with us.

I don't think this is a legitimate question. ANYBODY that has ever served in any branch of the military knows its, "AWOL" meaning Absent Without Leave. Also, you don't have any idea how to contact your unit? Also another impossible scenario.
But its fun to pose imaginary questions like this isn't it?

If you were even half a decent soldier, you'd know exactly where to call and go to turn yourself in. You are either a coward looking for affirmation or a prankster....either way hardly worth our time, energy or sympathy.

If you were actually a member of the Guard you would know that all you have to do is contact your unit.

You should know the drill. You went through basic training. If you are too stupid to remember, what good are you in a battle zone?
