Any low cal recipes for Thanksgiving that are good? I have a great pumpkin cake recipe so far.

One large can of pumpkin pie mix & one angel food cake. Stir them together really well and bake according to the directions of the angel food cake. Put in a regular square or rectangular cake pan and bake. It kinds of reminds me of carrot cake but very moist and really really good. For those of you following WW program it's 3 points a piece. Pumpkin pie is 9 points for an 1/8 of a piece!

Its Thanksgiving. Keep your recipes are traditional as possible. Shave calories off where you can and watch your portions. A lot of communities have annual turkey trot walk/run races Thanksgiving morning. Participate in something like that or double your normal workout routine. Enjoy the holiday don't obsess about the points and calories.

Fill most of your plate with the healthier or low cal foods. Take tiny portions of the other things. You will still feel satisfied. Or cut back for a few days before and after and it will balance out your caloric intake. Get a little more exercise in too. One meal isn't going to ruin your whole diet, if you do overindulge, get back on track and don't beat yourself up.

I suggest watching the little details. Don't butter your bread or drink regular soda. Go for light beer instead of wine or regular beer. Wine is just sugar. Go for a coffee instead of dessert and eat one portion of everything served only. Have one chocolate to acknowledge the host and leave it at that. Don't have several drinks, try one or two only. Go for a walk everyday and work out on a regular basis by swimming, doing aerobics, hiking and weightlifting. Also, don't eat a huge breakfast or any snacks on the day of the event.

Why not indulge yourself! You won't gain more than a pound or half a pound, don't worry about it. Eat!
