The number and variance of the types of injuries in MMA fighting, by far, outweight boxing. And MMA only get 3 5-minute rounds to do it in, unlike boxing. Do they fight harder? No doubt.

i think I know what you mean. Yes, it takes more energy when you are grappling, rolling around on the floor, trying to choke and hold people, having someone on top of you and all the other things that go on in an MMA fight. Thats why it looks like they get tired faster, because it takes more energy to do those things than just throw punches and move.

While they both have their strengths and weaknesses it seems like the "no holds" guys like UFC get tired more quickly which makes for a more boring fight. Once they just start hugging each other and taking a swing every 4 minutes, it gets boring.

"harder" is a childish term. Where are the better athletes? Well it depends on the athlete himself. Boxers are usually super conditioned, and most of the UFC fighters are super conditioned as well.
