I got a perm last week, but i'm having trouble taking care of it and making it look nice...the roots of the hair are straight and the curls are there but not cooroporating. Any tips to keep the perm looking good? thanks

Wash your hair every other day- washing it every day will dry it out even more. I use Pantene Hydrating Curls Shampoo and Conditioner, and it works great! Also, use a spray leave-in conditioner (Pantene makes this too!) While your hair is still wet, use a pick to get out the tangles, never use a brush! And always put either gel or mousse in your hair, when it's still wet, and blow dry using a diffuser (it's a plastic thing that fits onto the end of your blowdryer). To get more volume and get your roots to curl more, you may want to blow dry your hair with your head flipped upsidedown, and "scrunch" your hair as you go! Hope this helps! I have naturally curly hair, and it's worked for me for 20 years!

I have a perm as well. For 5 years as a matter of fact. Renew your perm every 2 or 3weeks. If your hair doesn't really need it once a month. Wrap your hair at night and use treatment every other week. Don't brush your hair comb it unless you have a very good brush.

well i had a perm a few months ago and what i used was Hair Oil to make my hair soft and having nice curls. I heard from a friend that using too much chemicals in your hair can cause it to turn into wavy hair. Well i used to kind of scrunch my hair with gel and it would work for me. Hope my advice helped

U shouldn't use a strong perm or else ur hair will break off but make sure you keep ur hair and scalp moisturized and keep ur hair clean. Every night before u go to sleep tie ur hair down and don't put alot of heat N ur hair such as the pressin' comb or ceramic flat irons. U probably should spray ur hair with oil sheen every mornin too.

try to use shampoo and conditioner extra for permed hair . i use panteene, you need to get the moisture back in the hair, that went when you got the perm. then spray some leave in softener on to take the frizz

Wash your hair with gentle shampoo and conditioner, use a defrizz product and also one that enhances curls. Air dry...

pantene is great for that and it gives you an awesome smell to your hair! also a comb seems to be really great instead of a brush.
