Have a look on his pedigree - you often find that breeders have kept to a theme, like naming a litter after Greek or Roman gods, or Roman Emperors, military generals, etc. so you might be able to name your dog after someone in his family tree. If that doesn't help, call him Champion - Champ. for short, because to all Labrador owners, their dog is "The Champ."

Search a baby name website, and find something cool, unique and not so embarassing like Fluffy, Spot, Rover etc.
Also, dogs names should be more then one syllabul so the dog can recognize easily.
Good luck!
P.S. My choice for a black lab would be Kingsley :)

Whatever you narrow down the choices to, think how you will look standing in the park calling him. IE you get strange glances standing holding a lead shouting 'Cuddles!' etc.
