If he can pass the hearing test, and a waiver is apporved, he can enlist, although his job chocies will be limited.

My husband was tested, and found to have partial hearing loss from his prior job. he is currently an O3 in the Navy.

He can join, a waiver is required and his jobs would be limited. If the hearing is correctable with hearing aids, he can qualify for more jobs.

I'm blind in one eye, and I can't join cause of that (not that I want to!). There's a lot of vigorous physical testing that goes on before you join. They won't even let you in if you're flat-footed.

You have to pass a hearing test before they will take you. If you fail you don't get in. It's that simple.
