First of all, I think we should all pray for each other and the world. Second of all, we don't know if the faithful in heaven can hear us? Also just cuz we ask 100 people to pray for us doesn't mean that GOD will grant our request faster or whatever. Sounds like you might be catholic. I used to be. The guy above me is definitely jehovah's witness.

Any believer can pray and be heard, that is what Jesus accomplished for us by living a life pleasing to God, when we go to the throne we do not ask according and pray in the name of John, Luke, Peter etc etc...we pray and ask in the name of Jesus..why because he is the one who mediates. His name is the name above all names and it is his righteousness that God sees and it is to his glory. However this is a benefit to EVERY believer...every believer can go to the throne because of what Christ has done, so why would it then be wrong to ask a believer to pray for you? The saints who have already gone before us can not hear us...according to Luke 16:26 "between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us." Since we can not talk to those who have gone before us why on earth would we pray to them?

Those who are in Heaven and are not able to intercede on the behalf of those still on earth. They cannot hear our prayers, nor can they be involved with earthly matters. Prayer goes from Earth to Heaven. Asking others to pray for you/with you is mentioned several times in the Bible. The most obvious example was Christ in the garden of Gethsemane.
Other examples:
Matthew 18:18-20
Acts 1:14

One mediator doesn't mean incessor. Paul asks the people of asia minor to pray for him it is the same thing as asking one in heaven there is no concept of time in heaven so we can't understand how they hear our prayers but they do. The thing is most protestants will say that theyre are dead and are not in heaven until judgment day.

there have been those times I could not pray for myself and depended on others to hold me up in their prayers. I also believe where two or more are gathered (you know the verse) But in most cases it is my job to pray unless I need the aid of my brothers and sister.

It's just a nice thing to do. I'd never ask others to pray for me though, but it's nice if they offer. I just go and pray myself.

Maybe because they think that if god hears more than one person, he'll think that the person they are praying about is more important. I don't think it matters who prays, or what they pray about.

The more prayer the better. When someone asks me to pray for them it touches my heart that they would ask me to.

Because it is forbidden to talk to the dead, and you have to do that to ask them to pray for you. The Bible teaches that we should pray for one another. But therre is never any teaching in the Bible that says we should communicate with the dead.
