i think it depends on the need. if one family is more needy, give them the $500. if they're all just as needy, share equally with everyone.

It is better to help five families with the $100 because it means that the five families can spend the money on what they need.

I think giving hoever small or large the amount or gift may be is great.

Personally, I I had $500 to donate....
I would give $100 to 5 families, and make a different in more lives.

If there is one particular family with a medical condition, that requires more medical help or things like that....

I would defenately donate the $500 to that particular cause.

How many families you touch is really not that important, but rather your kind heart and your good intentions.

I think, you should use the $500 and buy maybe $500 worth of turkeys (for Thanksgiving), or hams (for christmas) and go to the most needed part of town.

and just give them out to as many needed families as possible.

I think you are wonderful....

I personally provide dinner for our local orphanage one night during the Chritsmas season....feeding 60 + children

i sometimes just go in there with pizza, or mcdonald's happy meals, or thing like that..

and $500 can go a long way.

God Bless You !

When giving to others, it does not matter how much you give and to how many. What matters is that you are giving it with a clean heart and expecting nothing in return. Oh and that you are not making a big show of it.

But if you must know, always strive to accomplish the greatest good for the greatest number of people.

ps, that might not necessarily mean 1 dollar to 500 people, but then again there is that priest who comes out to skid row every christmas and gives a dollar to every person there.

Five families with $100.00 each.

I think people in need know how to stretch a dollar. I also believe that five families would bring the giver a lot more gratification than helping one family.

Spread it around, I say.
