I know this is kinda off topic, but Marines are not the first ones in. For almost every major operation in the past decade, the Army had Spec Ops, Rangers, or Delta going in first, and Marines following in behind. And for the original question, http://icasualties.org/oif/Service.aspx

I would probably say Army. The Marines are less numerous and
usually start out the war and they get a high death toll in a short period of time but they are very effective and once the enemy
is weak they will beless numerous and the Marines have less and less casualties as the enemy turns into a militia (whats happening in Iraq). The Army then gets more numerous soldiers
so thats why the Army gets more casualties. There are more of them and they are a little less trained then Marines and have to fight gurrilla style.

Well, it depends on how you look at it really. According to the numbers put out by the pentagon for each branch of service, the Army loses more people than any other branch. However, the Army also has A LOT more people involved in the war than all other branches put together. Proportionally, they are about equal.
Remember, my friend, there are only two people who willingly died for you. Jesus and the Military. We should all respect and honor them for that.

If you asked George W Bush the question, he would say "whats the difference they are only people" with a silly grin on his face, of course
