chosen for what?

chosen to accept the torah and the laws, and to honour them, yes.

chosen to be the only one G-d loves, no. jews believe that G-d loves everybody, jewish or not, and that G-d does not require a person to be jewish in order to "get to heaven."

so while we do believe G-d chose a group of people, the jews, to be his representatives and to follow his laws, we don't believe that a person who is not a jew and who does not follow his laws is condemned. there is nothing in our scriptures to say that non-jews are eternally condemned, and in addition to that jews tend to have an extremely high opinion of G-d and we would have a bit of a theological problem if G-d, who we say is all-loving and merciful, started to damn all the non-jews to eternal punishment. jews don't get any special priveleges for being jewish, and non-jews aren't in any trouble for not being jewish. in fact they have an easier time of it, because G-d expects them only to follow 7 easy laws, whereas jews have to follow 613.

I know they do, just as most others think they are the right ones. I also beleive that they were God's chosen people in the past, but that they rejected their own messiah. That's why all the first Christians were Jews that then went out and spread the word of Christ to all the nations. So anyone obeying and putting faith in the seed of Abraham is now God's chosen ones, not any particular nation or ethnic group, cause the Bible says at Acts 10; 34, 35 that God is not partial but accepts every man that fears him and works rightousness.

Those Jews who adhere strictly to the teachings of the Torah would probably believe that, yes. However, other Jews who are less "rigid" or "literal" about it have many differing ideas.

There's no denying, IMO, however, that Jews are the most PERSECUTED religion! There's been anti-Jewish action, including massacres, pogroms and the Holocaust, to name a few for over 5,000 years and still is, today. No progress whatsoever!

I guess it could be mistaken that their the "chosen". Hitler felt that they were some form of threat, considering his vile acts upon those born Jewish and those of the Jewish faith. Also considering that most people who are Jewish seem to be successful in society, but that isn't a guarantee either. They are no different than any other faith that self-proclaim that their the best and only true faith, except that the Jewish faith is harder to join. (Lot of studying Hebrew beforehand)

Jesus said he was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel...although he has become the favorite of non-Jewish Christians.

He also told the woman at the well, that "You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews."

Yes, the Jews believe they are God's chosen (not because they are better), but because God chose them.

Those who believe the Bible, yes. Those who don't, no. I believe they are because I believe the Bible. Many I know personally do not believe they are a chosen people. It all depends on the individual Jewish person.

Yes thats what they believe, thats why they have no quarms about making Palastine into the biggest concentration camp the world has ever seen, or bombing the crap out of other nieghbours with conventional weaponry.

They WERE the chosen people, that stopped when they killed thier own Messiah.

Yes, they were chosen to be a priestly nation. However due to their worshipping of other pagan gods, they were rejected in the end and Christ opened it up to individuals of all the nation. That latter part they don't believe.
