Maybe there should be an draft just so the same people aren't constantly deploying and redeploying? I don't think it necessarily means that the US has plans to go into other countries, although, I am sure that they need to at this point.

The closest we have come to a draft in the last decade was pure political fraud. 19 Democrats in the House of Representatives cosponsored a bill to reintroduce the draft during the 2004 Presidential campaign. They buried it in committee and then claimed it existed as a means of attacking Republicans. When Republicans forced a vote to shut them up, only 2 of the sponsors had the guts to vote for it.

on the college were I prepare, scholars should be suspended for donning offensive clothing - so no, i do not imagine the college over reacted. i imagine the youngsters pushed it to a strategies. To have an finished crew of scholars advise for underage ingesting? no longer an outstanding theory. there replaced right into a collection attempt at our college to "destroy" the gown code. women sending round texts telling anybody to positioned on something they comprehend would not be allowed because they suggested, "they could't droop us all!" properly wager what? they could and did. we do not get too many tries anymore. the youngsters needed to deliver a message, administration responded. do not get mad in case you don't love the answer. that's no longer about "you are able to't positioned on a tee blouse", that's about education values and accountability.

It will never happen. The Democrats have the house and senate now and they would not allow it. If there would be anyone to thank for a draft being reinstated, it would be Dictator Bush and his willingness to throw away so many lives in Vietnam....er....Iraq.

The draft will never be re-introduced as it will be the kiss of death for the career of any government representative who tries to do so.
They'll just keep rotating people until there are none left.

When, to endorse conscription over the volunteer military, Gen. William Westmorland said that he did not want to command "an army of mercenaries," Mr. Milton Friedman piped up and asked, "General, would you rather command an army of slaves?"

this is the democrats doing. I have no idea what is on their agenda. Perhaps its Darfur? I hope all you little liberal kids are signed up into college so you can get your deferments. Of course I know you won't use them, since you have screamed so loudly about Cheney using them. You will set your son down and tell him to go and fight like a man for his country now won't you?

I'm in the Marines. What we need is not more U.S troops, but more Iraqi's to join their military. There is no trust in Iraq between the government and it's people. They can't afford to pay some police there so why volunteer for no pay. I say to hell with Darfur. They want to butcher their own people let them.
