I think this would've been a tremendous fight. Duran was relentless with pressure and De la Hoya is fast and skillful but liked to war at times too (except for the Trinidad fight in which he ran the last four rounds). How would Oscar handle Duran's style? Would he box or would he try to brawl with Roberto? What do you think?

De La Hoya would be foolish to try to brawl with Duran (one of the best if not the best brawler ever who could still box). Oscar would have to box or he possibly loses this fight by KO. It's hard to go against a legend, possibly one of the ten best boxers of all time. I'll take Duran by a unanimous decision. Excellent dream match Pancho.

Hands of stone, because duran has great defensive skills and wouldnt be hurt by de la hoyas left hook. Duran would wear him down ferociously with body shots and finish him off in the late rounds. Duran would do the same thing with trinidad. Duran has too much power and defensive skills for de la hoya especially if duran is in his prime where he was near unbeatable. Remember duran beat sugar ray when duran was past his prime also and sugar ray was in his prime.

Duran. I dont think de la hoya has as big of heart as duran, also duran has a better chin and stronger punch. You never saw duran in his prime go dwon from a body shot and not get back up.

Duran would pound De La hoya because De La hoya would end up trying to go toe to toe with Durans style and that would be his downfall. No Mas

This is a GREAT matchup.
I'm picking De La Hoya. He has the right tools to handle relentless brawlers as Duran was; speed, footwork, ring-generalship. mental toughness and power in both hands.
Remember Vargas?

Great question.
But I don't think none of these boxers today would been able to beat Roberto in his prime. Mayweather,De la Hoya etc etc. Duran's biggest enemy was himself.
But when he was trained no one could beat Roberto especially in 135.

as good as palomino was, de la hoya was an all round better boxer and harder puncher. oscar takes a wide decision.
