I have searched far and wide and cannot find out anything about the history of consecration. Any sites, or information would be very helpful. Thank you

At the Last Supper, Jesus said, “Take this bread. It is my body.” Then he said, “Take this and drink. This is my blood. Do this in memory of me.”

Catholics believe this was the First Eucharist, that through some miracle the bread and wine actually became the body and blood of Jesus Christ.

Catholics reenact the Last Supper during every Mass, where God, acting through the priest, changes the bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus Christ.

This is a great sacrament of thanksgiving and unity of Catholics.

With love in Christ.

Dear lalask8,

You will not hear this from any of your religios teachers or priests but the churh age ended in 1988. 2 Thessalonians 2 tells us that the Holy Spirit has departed from ALL local congregations and therefore, it is impossible for anyone to be saved--have their sins washed away. This includes Protestant churches also. As you read 2 Thessalonians 2 you will understand that satan has been given leadership in the churches because the people have departed from the word of God-the Bible. The Lord's table and baptism had no spiritual benefit even when the church age was still in operation. But the church leaders erroneously made those ceremonial laws into "works" for salvation. God tells in Ephesians 2:8, 9 that our works cannot get us saved! In the Old Testament remember the man that picked up sticks on the Sabath? God commanded that man to be stoned to death because he did work on the sabbath. In fact the Bible tells us that most of Israel perished in the wilderness because they believed that circumscision and the sacrifices made them right with God. The Bible tells us that no man can keep the law, except the Lord Jesus Christ.
The same thing has happened in our day with baptism and the Lord's table. People are trusting in these things to make them right with God and that is a lie. Please read Revelation 18:4-end, becaue the Lord is telling His children (true believers) to get out of the churches which ahs become Babylon--the kingdom of satan.
