well this is a loaded question. You might not be able to get a date because you aren't out enough. You need to meet people. Joining a club or going to a gym or clubbing are all really good places to meet people.....a just be yourself.
Sometimes though it just helps to not look.....don't think about trying to get a date, just enjoy life and that right person will just come along....you won't even be looking for them

Think about who you want to be with, what characteristics, not just the guy with the nicest shoes, some women don't figure out the criteria until already in their 30's with and single with several kids. Just chat up some guy you think is nice, try advertising you are going to certain events like parties or the movies and would like someone to go with. You don't have to have sex on every date, that is just Hollywood nonsense.

So I will give you the simple one, dress well, carry yourself well, don't use too much makeup, be nice to people, friendly and personable, and you will get noticed and asked out by some one who will realize what an attractive, and nice person you are.
