Call me retarded if you want but I don't believe in god.......or in evolution. Would I still be called an atheist?

To spirenteh: good reply, and good question. Well, I'm not sure whether this is really my answer since I haven't really thought about it. I know that we had to have been created somehow, we didn't just pop out of nowhere, but I don't think it's god who created us. But, nobody knows...I'd believe in god if there was evidence

To Black Parade Billie: but evolution isn't proven either, so if I don't believe in god because he's not proven to exist then it wouldn't make sense to believe in evolution.....right?

... Hrm. Good question and. Yeah, I think you would be an atheist. Atheism is the unbelief of god or anything above. If you just don't believe in the christian, Catholic, islamic etc etc, with all the "founded" religions, but believe in a greater power you are an agnostic, I think.
Evolution is not part of Atheist belief, it's just a label. Somehow believing in evolution means not believing in god. But there are those who believe in both so why not someone who doesn't believe in either?
Although I would like to know if you have any belief about how we got here. or "came to exist" The only other possibility that popped into my head was "aliens dropped us here like my dad suspected" but I'm sure there's more than three explanations as to how humans came to be humans.

Yes, an atheist is someone who doesnt believe in God, evolution has nothing to do with anyones religious beliefs!

But how do you do that and NOT follow evolution? If god didn't magick everything AND it didn't evolve, how'd it come into being?

Yes you would. Most athiests, I've noticed, lean toward science, since they don't believe in a god, to explain how we got here.
