The trinity doctrine has got a lot of people confused about the true identity of God.

It is claimed that there are several scriptures that support the Trinity. But when carefully examined, they offer no actual support. Such texts only illustrate that when considering any claimed support for the Trinity, one must ask: Does the interpretation harmonize with the consistent teaching of the entire Bible—that Jehovah God alone is Supreme? If not, then the interpretation must be in error.

We also need to keep in mind that not even so much as one "proof text" says that God, Jesus, and the holy spirit are one in some mysterious Godhead. Not one scripture anywhere in the Bible says that all three are the same in substance, power, and eternity. The Bible is consistent in revealing Almighty God, Jehovah, as alone Supreme, Jesus as his created Son, and the holy spirit as God's active force.

There is ONE God. He has revealed that He exists in three "persons", Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

It is a relationship that is described, a relationship of a Father to a Son. So many will say that Jesus is the Son of God.

But Jesus also is God. In the beginning Jesus existed, and He was with God, and He was God. The same was in the beginning with God. And He became flesh (Incarnate).

I think the most accurate is to say:
One God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

This might help people who think we worship three Gods -- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.

It is three "persons", but only One God.

Dear Riley,

If you read the Bible, you will find that Jesus Christ has many names or titles. He is called the Lamb of God, the Bread of Life, the Good Shepherd, the Son of God, the son of man, Faithful and True, the Lord of Glory, the Most High, King of kings, Lord of lords, Jehovah, LORD, Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, Alpha & Omega, and there are many others... However, I believe these passages will give you the answer: In Colossians 2:9 we read, "For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." Please also see Philippians 2:6-11.

He's both. It's complicated, but there are three persons of God. God is not A person, like so many picture Him. He's three persons. One person is the Father. One is the Son, Jesus. The third is the Holy Spirit.

That's why Jesus is both the Son of God (God the Father), and God Himself.

They are both right. It' requires multi-dimensional thinking, or a lot of faith. You they are the same person, but in the sense that Jesus is the ' son ' of God reffers to the fact that God became flesh (Jesus) after the old testament. It's a time line thing.

I can only give you my own opinion.

It doesn't matter.

We are all the sons and daughters of God. God is perfect. Perfection can only create more perfection. Therefore, we are also part of God.

Don't hit the thumbs down just yet. Your tire is part of your car. No, the tire is not THE car, but if you point to the tire, you know what car it belongs to. It would not be the same car without the tire. Whether you say, I have a flat on my car OR fix the car OR fix the tire the mechanic will know what to do.

Jesus knew(and knows) the way to God. It does not matter what you call him.

"Son of God" puts the focus on the humanity of Jesus.
Jesus=God puts the focus on His divinity.
Wrapped together in the Hypostatic Union.

A mystery is not like a puzzle where you figure it out, it doesn't mean spooky. A mystery is something you just enter into.

The Incarnation is a mystery.

It's a matter of opinion -opinion of religions- Jeovah Witnesses believe that Jesus is the son of god and I *believe* but could be wrong, that Christianity, or maybe it was Catholosism?, believes that Jesus is God.

Because Jesus is one part of the Godhead - the Trinity - Father, Son, Holy Ghost. The three-in-one. It's hard for our human minds to comprehend but they are all one.
