Give her a taste of her own medicine and when she becomes uncomfortable explain to her how she's made you feel in the past.

I agree with debb - have several sentences ready like she suggested to avoid answering the question and then change the subject immediately. You might have some ideas for changing the subject in mind, too - like things you're planning for the wedding. That should distract her!

If this is the way your MIL-to-be is now, it will only get worse after you're married, so you are going to have to learn to be tough but polite with her. Just keep refusing to answer the questions no matter how many times she asks. If it comes right down to it, say, "I'm sorry, but that's really none of your business." But only as a last resort.

I think it is totally safe to say "I'm not comfortable talking about these things." If she pushed you to answer and asks why you don't want to, politely say "I'm just a very shy private person about certain things" No one can fault you for that. If you can't say that... get flakely and blow it off, just giggle and say something like "oh stop." I would do the first but the second works too :)

Oh, dude! That's the perfect opportunity to flip it on her! She thinks she is in control and has the right to ask those questions. This is the time when you answer her question with a question. Flip it on her and ask her about her sex life and her finances. When she gets appalled say that's exactly how you feel when she asks. Don't take that crap from her.

Just say "mom" I feel uncomfortable talking about this with you" or find an excuse to get out of the room like "excuse me but I must use the rest room"

I would say, word for word: "Pardon me, but why do you ask?" and then when she gives you her excuse say: "Well, as much as I appreciate your interest in my life, I have always been a very private person. However, your son/daughter and I have already discussed these things so she/he knows what he/she is getting into." Good luck kiddo.

Just say, "Oh, there are a lot more important things in the world we can talk about! Wasn't it awful about that terrible ______(fire/storm/car accident) they had in ______(wherever)." Or "Did you hear about that soldier that slept in a chair holding that Iraqi child several nights in a row because she wouldn't stop crying? How come you never hear about that on the news?" Don't let her rattle you. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!
