I must admit that due to the corrupt state that man is in today that we have become natural liars.But I do think that when we are mindful and try not to lie that we are some what not liars.Or at least not compulsive liars.

I don't think that is the purpose of speech, but it is certainly what people do with speech.
Now there is a difference between hiding one's thoughts and lying. It isn't necessary to say everything that you think.
But to lie is to deceive. And that is not "loving your neighbour as yourself".
It has become as natural a defence mechanism as was sewing leaves around their waists in the case of Adam and Eve. By lying, we hide what we are afraid to show.

It is difficult to digest when someone says he or she does not lie,
though we all know that everybody lies, as being untruthful is man's (in the generic sense) nature. Natural liars for sure and some 'comfortable liars' too, who seem to have their conscience seared and absolutely no feeling of guilt within.

The animals "lie" when they hunt or avoid being hunted.Yes,we are natural "liars",who can be more truthful in our daily lives.

I heard that the average person tells 20 lies in a day. A study was done in the social sciences. I was astounded. Obviously, salesmen, preachers, lawyers, etc, raise the average a lot.
