I have been suffering for 2 weeks with this pain, I went to my doctor, thinking it might be a massive ear infection, I can't see anything wrong with my teeth or gums. I am making a dentist appt on Monday, but the pain is traveling around my gums and I can't imagine what it is. Sometimes it seems the pain is coming from under my tongue. Has anyone ever had this happen? I'm afraid it's cancer or something!

I had a similar problem before and it was an impacted wisdom tooth. It happens when you don't have enough room in your mouth for the tooth to push through and it presses against your back teeth and puts pressure on your jaw. It is very painful. At the dentist they will have to take an xray to see if this is the case. If you do have this going on they may have to cut them out, but don't worry they will give you a local anesthetic or maybe even sedate you completely before doing so.

Did you see your doctor concerning this? My first thought is a potential cardiac problem, because when women have heart attacks, the pain doesn't always come from the chest. Sometimes, women will have pain in the jaw, or in their back instead. Not to worry you or anything, but that's my thoughts on this.
