What's your method for creating a song?

Question

Here is mine:

First, I come up with a chord progression.
Secondly, I make vocals to that chord progression.
Next, I come up with a way to finger that chord progression.
Then the other musicians (guitar, drums, then bass in that order) create their parts to the song.

I found that some people make lyrics first, or just start out with some riff they made on their choice instruments then build off of that.

What's your method?

I prefer starting with a literary phrase. Work out a melody and work the chords into it simulatenously. From there the song shapes itself.

I prefer a more organic approach with structure. So knowing verse/choruse/verse but letting the song evolve at once.

First I write the song
Secondly I come up with the vocal.
Next I come up with the melody I always find that easier.
Then I come up with the chords
Finally I come up with the music for guitar.

(I do the piano and vocal first because those are my strongest instruments)

I write the lyrics first and come up with a basic beat. When I start with my gutair, whatever comes to me is pretty much the song. THat's how my friend does it with her drums as well, and my brother with his base, except he never writes any songs.

for me, u dnt have to stress urself to write a song. u can inspire urself just by relating ur song in ur experiences in life or the life of ur friends.
