I just had 5 teeth pulled 4 days ago. (4 wisdoms and a molar) They still hurt a lot, which I guess is normal? What are they supposed to look like while healing? Mine are pinkish/red around the hole, and the hole is dark black. I know you aren't supposed to feel them w/your tongue, but I did and they feel mucousy(sorry, gross I know)How long til they are no longer black? Will they be all pink after they heal?

if you don't think you are healing , then go back to the dentist immediately!! You should not put your tounge any where near the places you had the teeth pulled from, i know this is hard to do because your tounge automatically will want to go there, it soothes the pain when you do this, about the blackness, i am not sure what that is but i would call the dentist first thing monday morning and inquire about what you see and feel, good luck-get better soon

Its normal. It looks dark/black because that's the blood filling back up. After a while..u wont have that hole in ur gums..it'll fill right back up n it'll be all good. it feels mucusy because its tender still..still healing. Kinda like when u pick ur scab..it bleeds or there's liquid..its healing still. 4 days..it should start dying down by the end of 7days. The pain will go down..but take ur meds that they gave u..since it'll help with the pain. Ur gonna be fine..n ur gonna be ok. If its like that after the 7th day..go back for a checkup. Though i think ur gonna be fine.

This sounds pretty normal. I had 2 wisdom teeth cut out and they were like that. Once they heal more the gums will grow together to close the hole and they will go back to normal color. It just takes a lil time.

YAY! IM NOT ALONE! I HAD MY WISDOM TEETH PULLED ON FRIDAY! SO I KNOW JUST WHAT YOUR GOING THROUGH! IT SUCKS HUH?! YEAH I KNOW!
WELL DONT MESS WITH THE BLACK STUFF. ITS DRY BLOOD AND ITS CALLED A BLOOD CLOT. ITS SUPPOSE TO FILL UP THE HOLE SO YOUR BODY CAN HEAL....IF YOU MESS WITH IT THEN YOU MIGHT END UP TAKING IT OUT AND GETTING AN AIR POCKET.. (WHICH HURTS LIKE HECK!) AND THE PINK IS JUST FROM IT BEING SWOLLEN.. MINE ARE BLACK TOO....AND THATS NORMAL. THAT JUST THE BLOOD CLOT. IF YOU HAD TO HAVE STICHES THEN THATS PROBABLY A LITTLE BETTER. BUT STILL DONT MESS WITH IT.
IF YOU GET AN AIR POCKET THEN THE DOCTORS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO PUT MEDECINE AND SWABS DOWN IN THEIR. AND ITS NOOOO FUN! SO JUST LEAVE EM BE. AND YOU'LL BE FINE =)
♥
P.S.
AND HEY! JUST THINK ABOUT IT! ONE LESS CAVITY INFECTED TOOTH TO WORRY ABOUT! YAY! LOL

The black you see in the hole is blood that has clotted. If it had not clotted they would not have stopped bleeding. You are fine it will just take a little time for them to heal.

From having the teeth pulled from your gums it causes trauma to the area and the healing proses would begin, from personal experience mine were very sore and pink, and no they should not be this way after they heal, hope it feels better.

gums heal from the inside just like skin. what you're seeing on the outside is the first layer to come off. the black is just LOTS of blood built up under a scab, so it'll feel mushy, but LEAVE IT ALONE! the only time to worry is if things get green/yellow

Hi. Don't worry. The black is just where the blood clotted and in a few weeks or less you'll not see anything there.
