Yes and yes. We shouldn't be afraid to offend if it wins souls.

Yes, Jesus offended a lot of people. He told them they were being hypocrites and that their showy. self-righteous, selfish, fake piousness was the only reward they would ever get. The Pharisees were offended because He showed how corrupt and twisted they had become. They were offended because He told them He was the Messiah, but that they had it all wrong about Who the Messiah would be. He told them that He was the Son of God, God incarnate. They were so offended, they had Him killed for blasphemy (calling Himself the Messiah and God) and for subversion (saying He was a king with a kingdom - it was the charge the Romans used to crucify Him).

We as Christians should stand up for the truth - the Gospel of Jesus - if it offends someone, I'm sorry, but God's word should never be watered down to make it more palatable!

Jesus was a controversial character to say the least. He was a Jew yet He challenged and taught the Jewish priests. His knowledge continually confounded them. They always tried to back Him into a corner with scripture and it always failed. That made Him a threat to them.

He offered salvation and forgiveness to those of other races and religions, such as the Samaritan woman at the well, and was often looked down upon because of His affiliation with people of "ill-repute" like the tax collectors. He went to the lepers who had been cast out of the city because of their disease and healed them.

The Bible says we are to be Christ-like. If I follow His example I am also going to be a controversial character. I'm not going to answer a question with what someone wants to hear just to make them feel good. We have a mission and that is to save as many souls as we can. Some people are offended just to hear the name of God. We are to reach out to people in love and out of concern for their souls, just as Christ did. We can't be responsible if the person chooses to be offended by that. I would be more concerned about that person's blood being on my hands if I don't say something.

Jesus offended people due to the fact that they didn't like what he said. Moreover, they were scared of him so they tried numerous times to catch him at fault so they could kill him. Christians should follow his ways so in that sense, yes we should offend people if we're doing what we're supposed to. In the end days, we will be hunted and killed all in the name of Jesus. To me, honoring God and living a life to glorify His name will be worth it.

Yes he did, all of the religious people. It is different today because the church usually offends people who are not by focusing on things that they should be like loving and helping people. Sometimes the church is correct and accused of being something they are not. Other times you have church leaders speak out and say something stupid and the whole church good and bad suffers for it.

He only offended those who believed and followed the father of lies. His exposure of their lies by truth offended them greatly. Yes, we should offend by telling the truth no one wants to hear.

He offended them by following God more seriously than any of them wanted to. That's an example any Christian should follow.

They shouldn't, but they do. If Jesus shows up, he can offend me. The rest of his clowns should keep their yaps shut. My lack of faith is none of their business.
