how much water do we/us need to survie?

A lot depends on activity. Watching TV all day would be less, working in the garden more. Usual rule of thumb is a cup per hour you are awake and more when active.

For a human to survive its about 4 litres of water per day for drinking. If we are to keep industry moving, we're talking vast quantities of water, million of gallons a day. For the city I live in, London, I think were into the billions of gallons per day.

Water in London is not a problem, in spite of the hosepipe ban. A hosepipe ban is better than stand pipes in the street, which could happen if the water company have to drop the pressure so much it will not reach the tanks in our roofs.

At least 2 to 3 quarts a day. Bathing would be a premium thing, but we could exist on that.
