I have a cat who loves earwax. I'm not sure why, but I think it has something to do with vitamins or minerals that cats need. Perhaps earwax is salty, which almost all animals love and need. I wouldn't be too concerned about it. My cat has yet to get sick or die. Albeit, she is rather strange in other ways...

No idea why but both my cats love the taste of earwax - but not from licking my ears !! If I use a cotton bud it has to be thrown away in the outdoor rubbish bin as even if it's wrapped in a tissue and dropped into a swing bin it gets fished out, chewed and the remains left just where guests are likely to find it. Yuck, indeed !!

My cats gang up on the dog and fight each other for the task of cleaning out his ears. I'm just going to assume that since they have been doing this for two years that ear wax doesn't harm them.

Ok how would you ever even find out that youer cat likes that. if my cat started licking my ear I would put her down straight away. That is quiet disgusting and you should not be encouraging it.

a cats mouth is not very hygenic and you dont want the saliva all in your ears. and how much ear wax do you have? clean them out for gods sake!

I saw a picture of a cat licking peanut butter from a womans parts once. It was gross. So it is probably the same thing.

You'd better hope it hasn't been sniffing around fly-larvae or your ear will make a nice home to a maggot colony which will grow & eat your brain. Hope I havn't put you off the experience!
