Since my existence was not of my doing, I am not required to justify it. Take it up with the ones who created me. I have neither the resources nor the inclination to try and cure the ills of the world. I help others as I can and I look out for my family, friends, and neighbors, as they do for me. We work together to make our little part of the world a better place, that's all anyone can do.

"I thinketh, therefore I am" I do things for people on a regular basis fuully knowing I may not get anything in return from that particular individual, but what comes around goes around. I may turn around and see a long lost friend standing in the aisle at the store, and those are karmic gifts in return. Good deeds should not be discussed with others. The best ones are the ones where no one else ever knows about them. There is some balance in this plane of existence, and who am I to tell the homeless guy that he needs to get a job? I may know that deep in my heart, but for the next minute in his life, he feels like he needs money. Who am I to question that. Of course the option to give or not is on me, but for the most part, I can give as freely as I choose, there is no harm in being kind. Even if it enables another human to do the wrong thing, but that becomes his karma at that point. Not mine. Love is what we are to learn here on this plane, the next who knows.

I don't think I need to justify my own existence. I do things for people all the time knowing I will not get anything in return. I don't give money to the homeless usually - somehow living in a downtown area with little funds myself turned me off that - but I will gladly get an extra sandwich or soda and share with the homeless if they want.

Unusual question - I wonder why you ask...

Peace!

Why should anyone have to justify their existance? and how is those things you put justification?

This question is complete crap.

No I would probably not give a bum money.
Yes I do help people in general, knowing i'll get nothing in return. What does that have to do with anything

Yes I do, to the first question. No, I never gave a bum money, because I know he would use it for alcohol or drugs, but I bought him a Meal at Mc Donald's and handed it to him and walked away, I did not want him to feel obligated to thank me nor did I want him to be embarrassed about the state he was in, just sitting there..

I always get something for doing things for others. It's called satisfaction. I would not call a person holding a sign pleading for money a "bum" because that implies this person is less than me--we are really all equal and that person could just as easily have been me if life had taken that turn of events. Please select your words carefully about how you describe people and be kind.

Sure I can justify my own existence. My parents had sex and I was born. There it is justified.

And if you do things for people expecting something in return you got it all wrong. You get that nice warm fuzzy feeling for helping people out, nothing more.

I do those things and other things to help people, esp. kids, who need it most. But I don't see it as "justifying" my existence! A) I don't need to do that and B) those things are done out of altruism, not to feel better about my existence or whatever you mean.

yes i try to be good to everybody, and yes i have and do give to people if they ask or i see a need.i don,t know if that would justify my extistance though.Once i was at a service station and this girl ask for gas to get home,I gave her $ 10.00 thats when gas was cheap, she went in and bought beer.......I felt she just used me ,but I felt good because I did what i felt ,and my heart was true, and i felt compassion for her..I do things for people because I feel good about it,not what they can do for me....hope this answers your question .

I don't need to justify my existence.

And yes, I do things for people every day without reward or even their knowledge.
