If he's unemotional, it means that he "doesn't feel"...so there's no way of finding something that doesn't exist. Guys and girls are wired differently. We think and feel in different ways. Most guys will never truly know what girls feel and vise-versa. That's just the way it is.
Most guys are very uncomplicated. When he tells you something you have to take what he says and not try to make something else out of it.

Marsa is absolutely right, in my opinion. That's usually your best bet. You can ask point blank, but that doesn't always mean you're going to get a straight answer. I know, because I've been through this with a couple of guys. One guy who I just dated, and another was a boyfriend. I could tell something maybe up, but when I asked straight out, I could never get an answer. However, just going by their attitudes and actions, it told me a lot more. Especially when those relationships went south. Especially my boyfriend at the time. You'd be surprised.

By his actions not just his words. Is he considerate? Does he put you down? Does he call or are you always calling him? Does he invite you to hang out with him and his friends or does he introduce you to his friends? Does he pay for dates? Does he check out other girls while your together? Does he ask for your opinion? Does he smile and make eye contact? Watch his body language, that is often very telling.

Well, most guys are really emotional but around their friends, they HAVE to be "men" and show no mercy or feelings, i'm sure if you were to talk to him without his friends or anyone else around he would show his emotions better,

ask him, and if you think his answer isnt right, tell him, look him in the eye the whole time, and be very serious with him. hope this helps! thats how i got my guy to open up a little.
