Would anyone check to see if the foreskin was still there?

And NO, i'm not an anti semite. I have Jewish relatives and just don't want to ask them personal questions like this. I am seriously thinking of converting to the jewish faith but the only think that is stopping me is the possibility of losing my foreskin. This is a deadly serious question.

No.

I'm afraid that the process of the Giyur (converting to Judaism) requires a circumcision.
And yes, they'll check.

I think you should talk to someone who had been through it. My uncle converted to Judaism when he married my aunt and he told me that the circumcision was the easiest part of the converting, but your fears are totally understandable and you should talk about them with someone who knows what it's like.

If you want to follow Judaism you must follow all the Judaic laws that will include not keeping your foreskin. That's the covenant from God to Abraham that all Jewish have to be circumcised.

if that's what is keeping you from converting then you should forget about it right now because clearly you are not interested in being Jewish.

A person who converts to Judaism has a strong desire to do G-d's commandments, you clearly dont so I would suggest telling your girlfriend or wife or who ever is pressuring you that you are not interested.

I sympathise. There's no way I'd allow someone at my bits as part of a religious rite. If it was part of becoming an atheist I'd very quickly find a faith which was snipless.

nope, sorry. you'll need to get it snipped. even converts who ARE circumcised have to go through a symbolic circumsion called hatafat dam brit. you might be able to get out of it if you convert under a reform rabbi, but other than that there's no way out of it.

you are going to be called an anti semite now for asking a jew related question.

I'm in deep, deep trouble as a result of asking a few jew related questions.

You have to go into a special booth each time you enter the synagogue so someone can check you out.;)

That's what's stopping you? There are harder things yet to come. And it's impossible.

I do not see why not. They do not sacrifice animals anymore either so why not?
