Of course not. Let's keep the great mediaeval cathedrals as buildings which are good for the soul and mind: the same applies to churches with a genuine architectural aesthetic, and Britain has thousands of those!

Those churches that look like out of town superstores or nuclear shelters - get rid! Nothing of worth can come out of such ugly buildings.

A really truly hideous religious building like Paddy's Wigwam in Liverpool - you could pull in a heck of a lot of money by raffling the rights to press the plunger and blow it up! Then maybe the RC's could build something nicer...

That is awful! Religious buildings are sacred and should be respected by all regardless of ones own religion. Religion is an important aspect of society and should never be disregarded in such a manner. That is taking away peoples beliefs next everyone will have to listen to the same music read the same books dress the same...we don't live in a dictatorship we are free to believe and act how we want and it should always be this way.

Better still the Christian community should destroy their churches of their own free choice and donate the land for housing the poor. That really would be in keeping with Christ's teachings.

That would violate the free exercise clause of the 1st amendment. Congress shall make no law which prohibits the free exercise of religion.

I disagree with your statement.
This country was originally built on Christian Standards & we need to subscribe to them again. Perhaps then the country would improved. Of course at the same time we should accept that other people have their own faiths, so we have to work together and learn from each other!

No, even though I don't believe in any religion I have seen it have a good effect on people, moreso than the well known cases where it has a bad effect.

It is assured in Revelation that the governments are going to destroy false religions because God is going to put it into their hearts to do so.

Nope. WHat's the point in having places for the body without places for the spirit and soul?
