give them a bad name? As a Christian, are you sometimes embarrassed or angered by the things other Christians, generally the hard core ones, say on the board here? Do you feel like it makes it harder for you, when people judge?

I do have thoughts like that, but then I realize that I am probably causing someone else to think the same thing about me. I remember that a very wise man once said to remove the plank from my own eye before worrying about the speck in someone else's eye.

Love is the best response to believers and non-believers alike.

The "other" Christians you speak of would be the fundies and yes I do think they give not only Christianity a bad name, but themselves as well. Their judgements mean nothing to me because God is my only judge. They must look at the log in their own eyes before trying to remove the splinter from mine.Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Not really. Bring on the humiliation I say *sighs*
They are turning off people to their own version of my religion, and for those who truly seek, my church is always there. It stands like a rock. It cannot be blown down by the strongest wind, although sometimes repairs are necessary. Those that become dead branchs to the main trunk will be cut off and thrown in the fire. Now, that's a bit harsh, but really, people ought to be careful of how they interpret that God in their hands. They treat Him so lightly! I don't think they realize the reverence due the Holy Bible, and it is but one part of the whole!

If by judging you mean attempting to peer into the heart for motive yes I agree and yes things are said here that are not Biblical or in love. If however by judging you mean calling sin a sin or what is wrong to be wrong then I disagree. We are to call people to repentance and faith both of which means examining ones life. Repentance is turning from sin so sin must be identified and a life of faith is obedience so again lifestyles must be examined in the light of the Word to see if they are acceptable to God. None of this of course is done outside of but only in Christ.

I wouldn't be surprised. Some things other atheists say make me cringe.

I swear I feel like Marge Simpson apologising for Homer sometimes.

No, I don't.
I got on to another Christian, but it was in love---I can only say that I think that what they are doing is wrong.
I will not say, "You MUST (whatever)",..
but the Bible tells us to correct each other, with LOVE---
YOU KNOW, and NOT bashing.
