Do you slouch or do you sit up straight? This could be nothing more than muscle spasms or pain from trapped wind. If you were suffering heart trouble you would be feeling the pain in the centre of your chest, in your neck or your arms. I don't think it could be your liver or you would be feeling 'out of sorts' too. Call NHS direct and have a word with them to see what they think. They will not offer a diagnosis but will advise you to visit your Doctor if they think it neccessary.

Take a few deep breaths, relax on the exhales and if you're still in pain wake your parents, please. That's part of parental package. They'd rather know and help you then have something bad happen because you were too afraid to tell them (if for whatever reason you're afraid for your safety if you wake them call another trusted relative or friend/friend's parents). Could be a respiratory issue but you won't know until you see a doctor. There are 24 hour clinics as well as the ER. Hang in there, m'dear.

Your rib is more than likely trapped under a muscle. if you go to an osteopath he/she will release it with a sharp pull or alternatively some gentle stretching exercises yourself with eventually sort it out. try lifting your arm up straight in line with your shoulder and do gentle circular moevements
