I'm catholic and when i do the sign of the cross i touch my heart in the middle of it.

they do? I guess they are clasping their hands in prayer, (hands over heart) afterwards, since the sign of the cross usually begins a sesssion.

I've seen Italians kiss their own hand after making the sign of the cross. Now that is kind of self-evident, so I never asked, but that would be a poser for me.

The Sign of the Cross is a sign of faith in the Holy Trinity. Different cultures have different variations of how it is done. I am not sure of the meaning of these but the basics are the same.

The father the son and the Holy spirit. It conjures and envokes the spirit in order to protect and help.

i don't know that i've seen anyone do that, but i know that sometimes people will make a cross with their fingers and kiss it, so its like kissing the cross. it's especially an italian/hispanic thing
