i almost have the same problem. i have shoulder lenghth light brown hair. i am not girly either. what i do is any of the following: ponytail, leave it straight and use a straitener, curl the ends out a little, or if your extra spontaneous, get it highlighted a good color. i did that a year ago and i got multiple compliments.

Well in my opinion if you arent girly and obsessed with your hair a lot. to me it sounds like you would look good with a straight (or curly ive never tried it with curly though) pony tail. They dont get in the way when you look down and are easy to maintain. I have wavy blonde hair and i tie it in a pony tail if im doing work so it doesnt hang in the way.

But that is just my opinion though.

just don't change your self completly. you'll totally regret it later. i mean guess its your life, and you get to do whatever you want with it, but just don't be someone your not.

anyway, had the same exact problem, only i didn't really want to change myself, i mean why would i want to be someone else when im best at being myself???? anyway, i have sholder lenght curly, and puffy haif(dark brown) but got it chemically streightened in japan, so, now, for some reason, its kinda lighter... my advice will be don't be some girly girl, or a wanabee, cause those are lame, and don't wear soo much makeup everyday.

Put it half up. or put it in a low ponytail to one side and wear a hat, that's cute

and remember, messy is good, very cute and the "in"

Oh, and for not girly, just leave it down.

I would get it thinned out/lightened. and stay on top of it & find a good hair cutter that will get to know your hair & the way you like it. now isn't that simple?
