My mom isn't anything like me, she's not girly or preppy like I am, and she never has been. My hair is a dark blonde with lots of dark lowlights and whenI was little it was blonde. I want to dye my hair blonde (professionally) but my mom doesn't want me to. I don't know if I should or not... what do you think? I really want blonde hair. And no not becuase its a trend, everyone else in my town is dying theirs brown lol. So I'm not following anyone. My mom thinks its too fake to dye my hair blonde, and well I am kinda fake lol. But she did say I can do whatever I want with my hair. What should I do?

By the way, I DO NOT want blonde highlights, I have those now and they're pretty much the color I want all of my hair to be.

Its kinda stupid cuz she dye's her hair blonde! at least mine is naturally blonde! it will just take like 5 years to grow out my natural color and Im OKAY with dying my hair. Basically I'm your fake, preppy, girly type of girl. Into trends, anything pink and stuff like that.

its your hair! get your mother to understand that. yes, she may mean you well * as in, dun want you to damage your hair, dun want you to regret dying when it turns out not as pretty as u think, or have to spend $$ redying every 3 months or so* but at the end of the day, i feel that you shld have a say on how you want yourself to look like.

good luck

If you live in your moms house, you are under her control. End of story. Wait until you're 18 when she has no say. And its not often that a kid is going to admit that they are fake so woah... maybe your mom has an under lying reason for not wanting you to dye your hair blonde... or its the way you went about asking maybe?

I'd say take your mom to the salon with you. It'll make her feel better that you want her there to consider her opinion even though she gave you permission to do what you want. That way she can give input on the different shades of blonde there are and maybe both of you can decide on a good color that both of you can stand wearing/looking at.

Well i think you should listen to your mom because it is hard on your hair. Causes split ends, makes your hair dry and frizzy. Besides guys likes the natural girls. But hey it's your choice.

Well, I say you do it. And then see what happens.
If it looks bad, don't have it dyed again, and if it looks good and your hair is healthy go for it again.
