Does anyone know the Scania story, their plans about entering the U.S. market again?

If I'm not mistaken, Scania is making only trucks for the European market. I don't think they have plans to come to the US. SAAB started out as an airplane manufacturer and designer in Sweden, in the late 40's they began making cars....a short time afterwards they merged with another Swedish company called Scania...thus the name SAAB-SCANIA. In the 1990's...GM bought the auto manufacturing end of SAAB and Scania became it's own company again...manufacturing commercial trucks.

SAAB's are a little querky...but...they are designed by fighter jet engineers...so...they are engineered to be maintained. They will last forever if taken care of. I'm not to familiar with the reliability now that GM has bastardized them...but prior to that...they were great cars for the at home mechanic.

Your not the only SAAB person out there....there is actually quite a cult following...you can check out a couple of websites...the best one I've found is saabcentral.com...it has a wealth of information and allows you to ask pretty much any question about the mechanics of your car.

Go to Saabnet.com. I have three classic 900s in my driveway.
