I've heard a rumor that Grisoft is dropping the AVG free edition by January. Is this true? Should I get a new antivirus? My AVG free edition is up to date.

This is only part true. They are dropping support for AVG 7.1 after January. In order to have continued support, download and install the new 7.5 version and you will be fine...

They are upgrading their antivirus---go check their website--it will still be free. It will be going from 7.1 to 7.5.

There was nothing on there website about that happening. Just there partnership with Microsoft. If you ever need another free virus scanner, or other free software go to http://www.pcworld.com/ and check out their reviews and links. They know what they are talking about and are fair and unbiased.
