Washing your hair daily is a sure way to have dirty hair. You wash away all the natural protectors that your hair has. I shampoo my hair once a week. My hair is curly, never oily. I talk to my beautician about it and she agrees that people wash their hair way too often.

It depends on what type of hair you have. If you have oily hair you could not do this. I personally wash my hair every other day. I know people who have to wash their hair everyday or it will get oily and i know someone who can wash their hair twice a week without a problem.

That used to be the norm. Women in the 50's and 60's. etc used to set their hair once a week. Either at the Salon or with their girlfriends. You will see many older women who go to the Salon once a week for a weekly wash and set.

I think it depends on the type of hair that you have. So you need to base the hair washing on that. It's also important tp use the right type of shampoos and conditioners.

Your hair would smell really bad and look really greasy after a week. Try it and see, I bet after 3 days you would be disgusted with yourself.
Caveat: African-American women might find it normal to wash their hair once a week. This is because they use a lot of different products to make a specific hair-style that is usually well...helmet like. plus I think a lot of them have problems with really dry hair that would break off if they washed it every day.

My boyfriends family is from South Africa, and the women there generally do their hair only once a week. They shower everyday, they just don't do their hair. And they aren't indigenous African's, so their hair is just like ours.

Wash it once a week, YUK, I wash mine every day but sometimes skip a Sunday in Jammies day.

may be,consider situation as different countries with limited bathrooms as they don't have one at home or the poor or lazy ones.
