I would use brown seedy bread with cheese, as the different textures are lovely and good for you, but my partner can't see past white bread for everything. He is from Glasgow and probably sees brown bread as a food for health freaks. Don't tell him I said so !! To him, anything healthy is a threat to his masculinity!!! Bring on the pies. Enjoy your toastie

I'd choose white coz brown doesnt taste as good. Depends on what bread u have and what u feel like. But i think the question is a bit pointless coz u've probably already eaten it - so what did u choose??

I make my cheese toasties in a frying pan and i do one slice of white and one slice of brown, it is different but it is really tasty, give it a go see what you think.
butter one side of the slice put it face down in pan add the filling put the other slice on top butter side up until the bottom of toastie is nice and brown, then turn over, fry it slowly, yummy.

I normally use wheat for sandwiches, but for a grilled cheese it has to be white. It's just not the same with brown.

I like it best with Italian or French bread, and it must be crispy on the outside and melted in middle. If it is not done with real butter, it is not worth eating.
