It sounds like you have laryngitis, that is what your symptoms display. Just gargle w/ warm salt water and take either aspirin or tylenol for the pain and it will pass soon. If it is pharyngitis, it shouldn't get any worst than it is now. If your aren't seeing any improvement in 2-3 days, go see a doc. Get better soon!

You should definitely make an appointment to have your doctor check it out, because while it could be harmless, why take the risk? Anything that comes on sudden is something that should be looked at. In the meantime (and I am not a doctor, so this is not medical advice), I would drink some warm tea with honey in it and also gargle with salt water. Please make an appointment to be sure you don't have strep throat (which is highly contagious and dangerous if not treated with antibiotics) or something else.

Gargle with warm salt water. You may be at the beginning of a cold. I just got over a cold, and it started with a sore throat. Cough drops also helped.

That happens to me sometimes; it could be that you've just been talking too much or something. Try just not talking for a while and drinking plenty of fluids. If that doesn't help, then you might want to ask a doctor.

don't consider drinking cold water, it's not good. it'll only make things worst, lukewarm water might help you regain you're voice / strepsils.
