I'd like to try the graham cracker crust, but most recipes call for traditional. I'm afraid it might be too many flavors, or not sturdy enough to hold the filling. Has anyone ever tried this before?

The traditional may be better. But, it not hurt to try this, that how new recipes are born, through trial and error. Good Luck and save me a piece. What I have found to keep a pecan pie lest runny is whip everything with a electric blender for a minute and chop the pecans.

I vote traditional just because I like it better. I think the graham one would be to sweet. And yes, it may not be sturdy enough.

Traditional! I need the traditional when eating a really sweet pie. The same goes for ice cream. If it's a really sweet ice cream, I prefer a traditional cake cone, but if it's a less sweet or rich ice cream, I like a sugar cone. Do what you like best.

I use a graham cracker crust for cheese cake. I think it would be just fine.

Use crushed chocolate wafers, well-ground nuts, sugar, and melted butter!

Press into pan, and bake for 10 minutes before adding filling :-))
