Lots of cats don't like to drink out of a bowl and often get their daily water needs met drinking from the sink, owners told me they turn the tap on twice a day; or from the tub, owner says they leave it dripping and cats drink their fill; or, like your cat, drink from a clean toilet bowl.
* If an animal doesn't get enough water intake they develop, first bladder, then kidneys problems. So don't get mad. Your kitty just likes the toilet. :}

Unless you live with a public restroom (one without a lid), just close the lid. It's polite, anyway, as 94% of germs that are in the bowl can be aerosolized by the flushing.
This is even more important if you use some kind of perpetual toilet bowl cleaner (like those drop in cakes) as the cat will ingest that, too.
Remember this: kitties are curious and will drink any water that doesn't smell acidic to them.

A firm "NO!" and my cat gets down. During the day when I am at work I shut the doors to the bathroom and bedroom. Shut the lid and that should suffice.:)

I have always kept the toilet lids down in my house. Pets drinking out of toilets always grossed me out. Kittens can jump up there and fall in as they don't see the hole!

get her a cat drinking waterfountain from a pet store. animals by nature prefer moving water.
since her bowl isn't moving the water goes stale within a few hours. would you drink a stale can of soda?
cats need a lot of water in their diet to prevent urinary track infections. the drinking fountain will increase her water intake.
any pet store will carry these fountains. got one myself and it works like a charm....cats stay out of toilet, tub, singks, etc now.
