back nov11th(last year) I left the military on a chap10? I dont have the paperwork....but it was because of some stupid fire in the barracks. no other problems. basic training certificate, AIT, I even have some certificates(like Combat Medic) that I got at my duty station.
I've always wanted to go back in, and I tried back in August but I totally f- it up. I went in, and they thought I never been in. I went with it, and when they found out they totally didnt give a hoot.
I didn't mean to lie, it just happened, and I dont mind going back through basic or AIT, really I dont care, I just dont want to be where I am now.
When I go in to see a recruiter, what should I say? I know what to bring, but I just want to know why are they being so evil to me when it wasnt even my fault.

You say Chapter 10. The UCMJ Chap. 10 covers a lot of ground, from lying to rape, from arson to high treason. Punishment is usually handed down by courts martial. You would have to be a lot more specific about the charge before anyone could give you a realistic answer. If possible, re-entry to the service would give you the chance for a great life career. It is often thankless and victim to the political winds of the time, but still a good life. I might recommend college and the officer corp for the best career possible. Good luck.

You have no choice but to tell the truth first thing. That you were in, and were discharged. You know exactly what RE code you received. Just because you don't have the paperwork doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If you lie and somehow make it through the cracks it will catch up with you very shortly thereafter when you get kicked out again for fraudulent enlistment. When you go to the recruiter you need to bring your DD-214. You don't have it? Then get it. It doesn't just happen that you lie. Your ability to take responsibility for anything seems to be questionable at best.

My understanding of a Chapter 10 military discharge is that it is given to a member of the U.S. military in lieu of a Court Martial, and that the member in question voluntarily signs paperwork accepting a Chapter 10 discharge and relinquishing their ability to reenlist in any branch of the U.S. Military.

Military personnel leaving the military under a Chapter 10 are assigned a code indicating Chapter 10 discharge. This code is how the military tracked your prior military service. Your Chapter 10 discharge not only impacts any future military enlistment, it can impact your civilian future. Employers will be cognizant of your Chapter 10 discharge and analyzing you as a prospective employee.

Reversal of a Chapter 10 military discharge would be unusual; but, you might consider contacting your local and state legislators for help.

Whether you want to reinlist is up to you. There are more opportunities in a wartime army than in peace time. You could try going back to your regiment and having the paperwork changed. It would probably be easier that going thru and enlisting office. Right now people with training are needed and they will do what they can go get you back in to active duty unless there is some major problem.

thats sad a dream deferred. nothing like the military. I think maybe you should lie low take come courese at ITT it is a nationwide technical school. then when Bush gets out, and the war ends go back to try again. always remember lying does not get you anywhere. always tell the truth. The truth may hurt but its the only way.
