man that's tough... I know many people face that daily. Unfortunately so many people especially in the 25-55 age group are unskilled. Many younger people have skills that are in keeping with progress .. computers Internet etc.. there are jobs out there but the unskilled labor/factory/farm jobs are on the decrease and have been for a while now.. I am not sure there is any real answer for that. Social services is inadequate to maintain any kind of life style.. I think if yo have recently found yourself out of work and have no way to put food on the table... you are liable to be a dangerous person, because desperation will make you do some scary sh!t

I`m a single Mom and I`ve seen and heard so many horror stories of people running away, giving up their children and worst.
There are Govt. programs out there that can help out, there are friends, family, neighbors, community church that can help out in many ways. Babysitting, job referrals, wellfare, selling your house and downsizing, even having a garage sale just to make extra cash and meet new people to make contacts, tightening the belt until things get better. No matter what, there is no giving up when it comes to family. I would do anything, except something illegal. My pride and how my family sees me, especially my daughter, is more important to me than anything anyone`s opinion. I would be totally honest with my family and ask for their support in anyway possible.

I have been in this very situation but I did not illegally migrate somewhere.
I cleaned septic tanks, I cleaned chicken barns, I worked on a pig farm but I consistently worked at jobs to support my family. I took courses to improve myself and chances at getting a better life for my family.

I have a college education now, I have a good job and my children are both going to college, I go without so that they can stay in college.

I never did anything illegal and I did this being physically disabled.

I would do, what ever I needed to do, their is always a legal and honorable option, however this is not the case for illegal immigrants from Mexico, they are only here for the quick cash, no other reason. I asked many time before to see some information showing me thousands of Mexicans dieing each month, no one could support their claim. I could not find it, no one could provide it, why is that ? Is this claim they need to come here or they'll die just more propaganda ? How can millions of Mexicans stay in Mexico and live just fine ?

Is their poverty in Mexico ? common sense would tell me YES, is it to the level that people like you make claim. I would be persuaded to say NO, and thus your the question in your statement is just a further exaggeration.

Before I say what I know you are going to say, let me add " NO " , I'm not going to go down to Mexico, I have a job here and I do not see my sefl taking the time off just to help support criminals that want to make it harder for me to raise a family.

I guess you would have to look at going on welfare as difficult as this may be. You have to look after your family no matter what. Looking for an illegal way to solve the problem would be a big mistake as it may end your opportunity to help your family and make the situation even worse.

Luckily I live in the United States and when I have made mistakes or I have had great challenges to overcome or have simply fell down in life, it is nice to know that a social safety net is in place which helps fellow Americans get back on their feet. Taxes are an investment in your country.

I might break the law and expect to pay the price if I were caught. I would NOT expect those I stole from to continue to let me steal from them when they find out.

However, when polled over 50% of Mexicans said they wanted to come here, even if illegally, and that included their middle class. Lack of luxuries and education paid for by others is NOT being 'without resources and no way to support the family.'

I have been there, failed a drug test on purpose( the worst way to cry for help by the way) lost my job, my wife had left me a week earlier, and it got to the point that i was counting pennies to survive(literally gathering change to get by that I had accumulated over the years)I lived with my little brother whom was an alcoholic and drug addict (whom passed away at the age of 39 a few months ago)He would get paid on Friday and be broke by Sunday,So I was feeding us and whomever was in the house on about $40.00 a week.(that i manged to scramble up from loose change)I didnt pan handle,I didnt steal, and I didnt sell any illegal substances,I did it the hard way.I walked six miles to A/A meetings and my rehabilition(which I managed to get a loan to pay for)($4500.00 altogether)moved to Vegas back with my wife. after 12 months trying to get my license back to a class A and found out that it is possible to rise above the life I knew that almost made me completly homeless,so if you think that life is too hard and you cant endure the pain of everyday problems I think that your weak and defeatist.(by the way my little brother was 6'4" and 240lbs) and we fought like Irishmen every step of the way'cause my sobriety caused hardship in the house....so nothings impossible, even for a little guy like me 5'11" and 190lbs

There have always been and will be other options other than a criminal act. Been there done that without resorting to criminal activity...WHAT you think American citizens have NEVER been down on their luck....take a look around you there are American families that are homeless. It is said that the majority of American citizens are 4 paychecks away from being homeless. I would say more than half of American citizens are living pay check to pay check. If they weren't those advance loan places wouldn't be all over the dang place.
Like I said tho, there are always other options before resorting to criminal activity.

I have been there and never resorted to any type of criminal activity to continue to support my family. Hard work and a willingness to do anything legal to make a living got us through the hard times, my children even helped out by doing yardwork for others to contribute to the family finances. I can look any one straight in the eye and know that I am as good as they are. My children know that hard work is its own reward.
