Sure they can, but it takes a lot of work, and a lot of give and take, My wife and I have been in a long distance relationship for almost three years now. I joined the army just after our wedding, and since then, we have only been able to spend a total of eight months together. Between going to basic training, AIT, getting stationed in South Korea, and then being sent off to the war in Iraq, we havn't exactly had much time together. Distance truly can make the heart grow fonder, but you have to take the bad with the good. I figure if my wife and I can make it under these extreme conditions, anyone should be able to make a long distance relationship work if they really want to, and both of the people involved are willing to stay faithfull and commited to each other, and work hard at dealing with a difficult situation.

I think long-distance realationships are very hard. I had met this guy in my hometown but it turned out he lived in California. I saw him twice a year for 4-6 weeks. We broke up after a year cause he ended up cheating on me.
Now i'm engaged to be married, i live in Germany at the time and my fiance in the United States. I will be joining him over there next February. So yes, long-distance realationships can work and turn out into marriage. BUT let me tell you, it is so hard not being able to see, touch, feel or hold your partner for a long time. I couldn't live like this for a long time; just phoning and seeing eachother on the internet isn't all that...

I never had an long distance relationship. But, i believe that it could work, if both are committed to only each other. If both are committed to each other, then there shouldn't be anything wrong.

It really depends...
It takes two to make it work, and there are both successful and unsuccessful cases.
Have faith and go all out to love. Better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all.
Good luck!

no...because if you can't see your significant other or talk to them everyday then they may tend to find comfort elsewhere.
