i have had lazer treatment of my eye -- it was successful and wonderful - sight after 20 years of struggling with vision and colours --- i would recommend it highly. The cost of the treatment far outways the cost of lenses/glasses and panic over broken ones!!! good luck

I would like to get it done as both my brother and sister had it done and say it was well worth the pain. I have a lazy eye so they cannot perform the surgery on that one and I also have astigmatism in both eyes. One of my eyes is short sighted and the other is long sighted so another reason for me not to have it done as they cannot guarantee that I wouldn't get double vision after the surgery. It isn't for everyone but since I first enquired about it they now treat eyes with astigmatism and the treatments are getting better all the time. It can be expensive and this should be taken into consideration. Also your eyes naturally start to age over time so the effects won't last till you die. I spend about £300 a year on contact lenses, glasses etc so the treatment would take about 8 years to be worth the money.

I've been in two minds about it for years now - I think it depends on how old you are as well - as our eyes to deteriorate with age. A previous post has also mentioned the safety aspect with specs and these days there are so many different styles (not cheap I have found) that you can have a pair to match each outfit and/or mood or even contact lenses

Somebody once told me to check out how many opticians actually wear glasses - and when I started looking to my surprise most of them did - if laser eye treatment was all its meant to be dont you think they would be the first!!

My optician suggested it however, I then developed Glaucoma and now use Pilocarpine. My eyesight is now normal or better and IF I had of had it I would be worse off.
Further wearing glasses has saved my eyesight 3 time in my life, once from a flying nail, once from metal shards and once when I was blown up. Now, would not be seen without my specs even though my eyesight at 60 is good.
