So this guy I have a crush on used to be really shy around me but lately we've been seeing each other around at parties and stuff and he is more relaxed around me and teases me like he knows I don't like to drink so he'll be like "no, lets give her grape juice, her favorite drink" or he'll be like "oh people fromthe south are really nicer than northerners" I'm from the south. and defending me like when i said i didn't like the chicken being served at dinner he was like "Well, at least she's honest" Is he just being friendly or is he flirithng?

Sometimes teasing can equal flirting but sometimes it can just mean he is being friendly. For me sometimes I will tease someone and they will think I am flirting when I am totally not! but this is coming from a girl so I don't know, it could be different for guys. Next time he teases you, tease, or flirt with him back and see how he reacts.

A little bit of both, if your interested in him, why not invite him out to lunch or some other activity. If he's shy and prefers a large group, invite you friends and go to the movies or bowling that way you get another chance to see him and get to know each other better.

He could be flirting. It would help to know how old he is. He sounds really young, based on his responses. I think it sounds like he at least likes you.
