if you were stood in the aisle on a moving bus and jumped up in the air would you land in the same place or further back down the aisle as the bus is moving?

you have the same momentum as the bus and when you jump you will land where you jumped from. you will not land further back as some people think.

as to the lift comment from someone, it was on mythbusters the other day. imagine if you can jump at 5mph (its less than this really) and the lift was falling at 50mph, even if you were to jump at the right time, you would still hit the floor of the lift at 45mph and die.

You'd land in the same place as long as the bus didn't suddenly brake or accelerate heavily, as your body speed is the same as the bus speed at that time.

Same place of course. If not, if you were standing at the rear of the bus , you would end up on the road !

And what about if you were in a lift that fell 50 flights? If you jumped in the air the minute the lift hit the ground, would you be ok?

same place althoguh the bus moved you just jumped up to foward or backwards

you probably would move only if the bus were to stop suddenly or what not
