At least it will make you happy while you suffer!

Sure celebrate the stupid thing!!! Just kidding.
Like the OL saying goes, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger!

Really though, go to a health food store and get yourself some Hissop tea. (this stuff cures pneumonia even) Make it strong and drink it often. (drys up mucous) (shot of wiskey on the side)

Take some garlic pills. If they don't cure it they will at least keep the people away that gave it to you in the first place!!! (wash down with Hot Toddy)

Zinc cough drops with Echinacea and vitamin C are very good as well. I use the Quantum brand (cherry flavor)
Although they don't taste the greatest they work very well.

If you use ALL these things for about 3 days that cold will vannish!

The wiskey can be drank as needed. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!

Two weeks is way too long for a cold. Go to the doctor and get something to cure your illness, it may be in need of treatment. But yes, use the hot toddy if for nothing else a buzz.

The idea behind warm liquids when you have a illness is that your throat is sore so its soothing, when whiskey is added it numbs the throat however does nothing to cure the cold, unless you have a stomach flu in which case it kills the acids and flu germs in your stomach. It may be better if you drink hot lemon water with ginger or chai(no milk) both ginger and the spices in chai have shown that they fight off the cold. but whiskey does allow us to sleep and sometimes thats what we need as for your chest i would use large washclothes diped in hot water and some vix vapor cream, when not using the washclothes use a heating pad, and no smoking and if u really must smoke the lightest u can

Myself, I go for rum grogs. Rum, lemon juice, honey, cloves and cinnamon, and hot water... then again, it has to do with the fact that I'm French and that grog is the traditional toddy here, plus the fact that I usually don't have the kind of whisky that you can use to make a toddy without committing a gross crime.

Oh yes. I had the bad bronchitis a few years ago. Nothing would help. Up all night coughing horrible. I finally resorted to heating up a half cup of brandy with juice of whole lemon. Add a little honey or sugar to sweeten and maybe a little hot water. Drink it down and pleasant dreams. My daughter swears by adding a little Cayenne pepper to this. She says it will knock the cold right out of you. Feel better.

I usually make a hot toddy when I have a cold. It makes me feel really good.

1 cup of boiling water
2 shots of brandy (rum works well too)
1 or 2 tsp of sugar or even honey
some lemon juice or even a squirt of orange juice
add some lemon or orange peel.

1 Hot Toddy is not enough. You must have at least 5 big strong ones (half a bottle) to be of any Medicinal Use. Keep them Flowing!

Personally I never use drugs or anything else to cure colds etc. What I do is:-
Lie in bed and visualise my blood with black spiders in it. Then I visualise Cotton wool balls surrounding the spiders and destroying them. You may sweat a lot during the night but this works for me. Try it and see!!

I'm with you.Since I was a child my family's cure when all else fails is hot tea with honey, lemon and bourbon. Then you bundle up and sweat out all that poison. Best of all, if it doesn't work, you really don't care!
